Surinam is a country with lots of talented artists and Tjatjie is one of them. The 24 years old Tjark Bel is born and raised in Paramaribo, the capital of Surinam. Tjatjie started his career in a group named The Mighty Youths and with this group he scored many national hits in Surinam.
In 2014 Tjatjie decided to start his solo career to move more to the international reggae and dancehall scene with his music. Tjatjie is working hard at the moment on his upcoming EP “The Other Side” set to be released later this year.
His first single is a featuring with Dutch reggae artist JOGGO (Jurgen Seedorf) who lives in the Netherlands and recently released his album Conscious Love. JOGGO is known from hit tunes like Beware, Peace and Love and Strong Black Woman.
The featuring between Tjatjie & JOGGO called “Murdera” includes a videoclip and is shot in Surinam.
“Murdera” has a strong message; they sing about all the violence and killings on the streets and want it to stop and ask them to put down their weapons.
